Carpenter Takes Its Products to the Heart of Government

Glossop- based Carpenter Limited is today celebrating after catching the eye of MPs while showcasing its innovative bedding products in the heart of Westminster.

As one of the world’s leading producers of foam and the fastest growing sleep accessories manufacturer in the UK, Carpenter was invited to exhibit two innovative new pillows as part of a prestigious four day exhibition staged by the British Furniture Confederation (BFC)

Said Gillian Finch, who leads Carpenter’s consumer division: “The exhibition was a great opportunity for British manufacturers to showcase their products and highlight to MPs the

importance of the furniture industry to the British economy.”

Colleagues Ian Owen and Neil Uttley also attended the official exhibition launch held at Westminster where they were able to talk about their products face-to-face with MPs including Stephen

McPartland, chair of the All Party Parliamentary Furniture Industry Group.

MPs local to the Carpenter factories also attended. Nigel Mills of Amber Valley and Andrew Bingham of the High Peak constituency – were both extremely impressed with the Carpenter ethos, and are interested in keeping abreast of the businesses’ future ventures and growth.”

The high-profile BFC exhibition was held at the House of Commons (July 9 to July 12) and enabled a selection of British furniture and bed manufacturers to showcase their products in the heart of Westminster. The aim was to highlight the fact that the industry contributes £7 billion to the economy and supports in excess of 100,000 jobs across 6,000 companies.

Carpenter’s fast growing consumer division produces a range of pillows, toppers and mattresses under the ‘sleep better’ brand.
